Galt & Taggart presented an overview of the Caucasus economies and the FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) sector at the Pepsico Caucasus Annual Conference.

At the event, Galt & Taggart representatives shared with the conference participants current trends and forecasts in the economies of Georgia and the region, as well as the findings of the FMCG sector research.

According to Galt & Taggart research, in 2024 the FMCG market grew by 6.8% annually and reached 22.7 billion GEL. As expected, the revenues of branded chains grew at a higher rate than other formats by 14.9% annually, which was mainly due to geographical expansion. In 2024, about 500 new stores were added to the chain of branded stores, of which about 350 were in the regions, the rest in Tbilisi. As a result, the number of stores in Tbilisi and the regions was equalized.

The meeting focused on the vision of the future development of the FMCG sector, which was outlined based on the research. Galt & Taggart Sector Head, Mariam Chakhvashvili, also spoke about the growth prospects and driving factors of the FMCG market.
